COBALT advised Baltic Agro Machinery OÜ on the sale of John Deere business

COBALT advised Danish Agro Group company Baltic Agro Machinery OÜ on a deal wherein Danish Agro sold John Deere’s agricultural and horticultural machinery business in Estonia to Wihuri OÜ. The transaction was part of the divestment obligation of Danish Agro Group negotiated with the European Commission.

The Denmark-based Danish Agro Group with over 4,700 employees in 16 different countries is active in the sale of agricultural machinery and provision of after-sales services, as well as in the sale of animal feedstuff mixes, premixes and vitamin mixes, fertilizers, pesticides, seeds and the purchase of crops from farmers.

Wihuri OÜ is part of the Finnish international industrial and trade group Wihuri OY, that consists of four business areas operating in 30 different countries: packaging, daily goods wholesale, technical trade and aviation.

We advised the client throughout the entire transaction on matters relating to Estonian and European Union law. COBALT’s team consisted of partners Peeter Kutman, Karina Paatsi and Aivar Taro, specialist counsel Jesse Kivisaari, senior associate Mart Blöndal, and associates Liina Saaremets and Helen Sool.
