COBALT is a leading Baltic law firm in the CEE region

COBALT is recognised as a leading Baltic law firm in the CEE region by the number of deals advised in the first half of 2018, according to M&A reviews presented by the international business news agency Mergermarket.

In the Mergermarket league table COBALT is one of the leaders among all Baltic law firms in the CEE region.According to the agency, during the period from January to June 2018 COBALT in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia advised on a total of 12 deals valued USD 93 million.

In the rankings COBALT stands among such leaders in the international legal services market as CMS, DLA Piper, Schoenherr, Allen & Overy and Dentons, to mention just a few.

In the first half year of 2018, COBALT advised the Polish asset management company PFR TFI S.A., managed by the Polish Development Fund (PFR), on the acquisition of a minority stake in the Lithuanian company UAB EMP recycling. What is more, COBALT team advised the European specialist provider of capital solutions for small and mid-sized companies Kartesia in its first investment in the Baltics with the acquisition of Groglass®. COBALT also advised the owner of Latvian American Eye Center in the sale to a Latvian medical institution MFD Healthcare Group, and on the sale of Runway BPO to Webhelp.

COBALT advised the most significant employer of pharmaceutical personnel in Finland, Yliopiston Apteekki OY, on selling its pharmacy chain in Estonia to Euroapotheca, forming one of Northern Europe's leading pharmacy networks. We were also the advisors of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) on acquiring Estonia’s biggest terminal operator Transiidikeskuse AS, making HHLA the market leader in container handling at the Port of Muuga, the main port in Estonia and an important maritime location in the Baltic region.
