COBALT represented the European Commission in a dispute with the Republic of Estonia

2018 - 11 - 15

COBALT successfully represented the European Commission in a dispute regarding the amounts to be charged for the surplus sugar stocks in the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).

According to the CJEU’s decision, the Republic of Estonia’s appeal for the annulment of the decision of the General Court of 24 March 2017 must be dismissed. The court found that the General Court has sufficiently reasoned why it considered that the circumstances, on which was based the Republic of Estonia’s request sent to the Commission for changing the decision on sugar stocks, cannot be considered as new facts.

The European Commission was represented in the CJEU proceedings by senior associate Liina Naaber-Kivisoo from COBALT together with the representative of the Commission.
