Kristiina Rebane, former Competition Policy Advisor of the Ministry of Justice joined COBALT Law Firm

Kristiina Rebane has worked in the public sector for more than ten years. She has been responsible for the public procurements, participated in negotiations with Estonian hospitals and companies of the ICT sector, participated in drafting the financing decisions of health services as a lawyer working for the Estonian Health Insurance Fund, played a role in the implementation of energy savings measures as the Manager of the Climate and Energy Agency, and lent a helping hand in negotiations for emissions trading.

In her previous role, Kristiina exercised supervision over the Director General of the Estonian Competition Authority and over the general activities of the Authority. She was also responsible for representing the state in court in judicial proceedings related to the field of competition and the activities of the Estonian Competition Authority in which her responsibility lay in representing the state in the court case AS Tallinna Vesi and United Utilities B.V. (Tallinn) vs the Republic of Estonia.

Kristiina decided to join the COBALT Law Firm as it is the largest law firm in Estonia and the Baltics, and is highly recognized by customers and competitors. Working for a law firm with such a considerable scope will provide her with the opportunity to apply the experience gained from the public sector on a broad basis in different fields of law and also improve it on the international level.

For her next challenge, Kristiina anticipates the application of her previous experience as a lawyer above all in matters pertaining to regulated business, including price regulation, competition law, organisation of the healthcare system and its services and energy savings.
