Renata Vasiliauskienė is a Senior Associate in IP & IT and Regulatory Law practice group in COBALT and has over 12 years of legal experience. Her main expertise areas include regulatory compliance (including electronic communications and cybersecurity), data protection and consumer protection (including OMNIBUS and content management pursuant to DSA). Renata also has practice in various e-commerce matters, including regulation of digital communications, cookie management, promotional campaigns, unfair business-to-consumers commercial practice and other online consumer related issues. Renata provides legal services to the local and international clients on various aspects of TMT, for example, regulation of AI, software products and services, licensing, development and maintenance of e-commerce platforms, representing media platforms in various disputes regarding media content, etc.

Within the recent year COBALT has introduced a cyber incident response team where Renata is one of the main team members. Furthermore, Mrs. Vasiliauskiene continues to build her reputation as a tech-lawyer by:

  • providing yearly cybersecurity training for the fellow colleagues at COBALT;
  • leading cyber breach investigations on behalf of clients with supervisory authorities;
  • supporting the M&A teams during the acquisitions of tech companies (i.e. local radio stations, telecoms providers, developers of medical devices based on AI);
  • being the main pan-Baltic contact in COBALT regarding various NIS2 and DSA assignments;
  • actively participating in seminars and conferences as a speaker on topics like Metaverse, AI, non-technological issues in robotics, data collection by robots, cybersecurity and risks related to the remote work, etc.
