Combiwood Group acquires the Estonian wood supply business from Metsä Group

2024 - 02 - 28

Combiwood Group acquires the Estonian subsidiary Metsä Forest Eesti from their Finnish parent company Metsä Group.

Metsä Forest Eesti purchases forest material, wood chips and felling rights for growing forests. The company supplied wood chips suitable for pulpwood and pulp production mostly to Metsä Group’s factories in Finland and Sweden.

According to Gert Rahnel, a member of Combiwood’s Management Board, the acquisition will provide an opportunity to expand and improve partnerships with suppliers, purchase larger assortments from suppliers, and help to expand their own stock.

We advised Combiwood Group on the completion of the acquisition throughout the entire duration of the transaction, which included the negotiation of contracts and the merger procedure. COBALT’s team was led by Partner Peeter Kutman. Our team also included Specialist Counsel Mart Blöndal and Senior Associates Liina Saaremets and Sandra Sillaots and Junior Associate Ken Saksniit.
