COBALT Defends Pūre Chocolate Trademarks

On the 22nd of January 2015, COBALT litigators successfully defended the trademark registrations of Pūre Chocolate SIA in the Riga District Court. Claimant Tchibo Markenverwaltungs GmbH & Co. had filed an action to cancel all four of Pūre’s registered trademarks in Latvia.

The court found that the Pūre Chocolate trademarks are not confusingly similar to the earlier trademarks registered by Tchibo and therefore that the cancellation action could not be satisfied.

Pūre Chocolate SIA is a family-owned candy and truffle manufacturer operating in the town of Pūre, Latvia. The company exports its delicious products to 17 countries.
