COBALT Estonia becomes the first law firm in the Baltic region to implement Harvey, the leading AI platform for legal and professional services. The roll-out makes the technology available to all lawyers and teams across its Estonian office.
The decision followed an internal pilot at COBALT Estonia during which the office assessed how AI could deliver genuine, measurable value in day-to-day legal work. The move reflects COBALT’s longstanding commitment to serving clients with the highest quality advice on complex business matters, with greater speed and efficiency.
For the Estonian office’s lawyers, Harvey means less time spent on technical, repetitive, process-intensive tasks and greater capacity for the substantive advisory work that clients depend on. The platform handles workflows, editing and technical data analysis at pace, but the legal judgment remains with the lawyers. No work product leaves the firm without the same rigorous professional scrutiny it has always received.
The firm is equally deliberate about responsible use: in addition to continuously ensuring robust safeguards around client confidentiality and data protection, the roll-out of Harvey is paired with comprehensive training so that every lawyer uses the technology effectively, responsibly and in full compliance with professional obligations.
Rather than restricting the use of AI solution to limited number of lawyers, as many law firms have done, COBALT chose to embed Harvey across its Estonian office from the outset. This decision is rooted in the belief that the full benefits of the technology are realised only when an entire office can draw on it in service of its clients. The firm is convinced that the whole organisation must keep pace with technological change and drive efficiency, which is why licenses have been secured for all lawyers in the Estonian office regardless of seniority, as well as for support staff.
“We want our lawyers spending their time where it matters most — advising clients on complex matters, structuring transactions, developing legal strategies, solving problems. Harvey handles the groundwork so they can do exactly that. This is not about replacing professional judgment with technology. It is about equipping talented people with better tools so that our clients receive faster, sharper, and more efficient advice.” Kristel Raidla-Talur, a member of the Management Board of COBALT Estonia, says.
“COBALT Estonia’s firmwide adoption marks a major milestone for legal AI in the Baltic region,” said Jorge Bestard, Vice President of EMEA Sales at Harvey. “We’re proud to partner with such a forward-thinking firm as it applies AI to improve client service and maintain the highest professional standards.”
The adoption of Harvey at COBALT Estonia sits within a broader strategic effort to ensure that clients, in the Baltics and internationally, continue to receive exceptional legal advice, now enhanced by technology-enabled operational efficiency.
