Destruction of a shipment of counterfeit optical sights

In late 2024, officials from the Latvian State Revenue Service Customs Board discovered counterfeit optical sights from the Swedish company Aimpoint Aktiebolag at the airport customs checkpoint, instead of the declared toy accessories in a courier parcel from Hong Kong.

Following communications with Latvian customs officials, representatives from Aimpoint Aktiebolag concluded that their intellectual property rights had been infringed, and the detained goods should be destroyed.
