On 8 December 2021 COBALT invites to join the release of FinReg 2021 Expert Panel Discussion on the new European Union crowdfunding regulation. During the online discussion an outstanding panel of speakers will examine the regulatory framework and discuss topical issues for providers of crowdfunding services.
At the FinReg 2021, market representatives from the Baltics will share their personal experience and main challenges when crowdfunding, and give their recommendations for both project owners and future investors. We will also hear from the representatives of the Baltic regulatory authorities on the state of play of crowdfunding in each country, the risks associated with crowdfunding, the obstacles of the regulation to potential financial supervisors, and their predictions on the future of the market.

CONTEXT
The European Commission legislation regulating crowdfunding activity that applies across the European Union entered into force from 10 November 2021 to providers of investment-based and lending-based crowdfunding services. This is the first regulation of crowdfunding services on a European level. Up to now, crowdfunding had been governed under the various national laws of the Member States.
