Mediq acquires Healthcare Trade Business of Oriola-KD

Mediq, an international provider of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, has acquired the Healthcare Trade business of Oriola-KD at the price of EUR 85 million. By taking over the Healthcare Trade business of Oriola-KD, Mediq becomes the largest provider of medical devices to hospitals and other health care institutions in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and the Baltic states.

COBALT Riga office (in cooperation with the lead counsel Rønne & Lundgren) acted as the Latvian counsel to Mediq in acquisition of the Latvian Healthcare Trade business of the Latvian subsidiary of Oriola-KD, including legal due diligence and advice on Latvian corporate, contract and tax law aspects of the acquisition. COBALT Tallinn and Vilnius offices acted as Estonian and Lithuanian local counsels to Mediq, respectively.
