COBALT successfully represented a client in a complex dispute about the division of assets
2025 - 07 - 03
A client wanted to divorce a long term marriage during the course of which the spouses had accumulated substantial assets. These included real estate in Estonia and abroad, crypto, shareholdings in different companies and animals.
The spouses had major differences of opinion on how to divide the assets, including on how much the assets are worth. Different tax aspects also had to be considered. After complicated negotiations, which also included valuations of companies, an out of court settlement satisfying both spouses was reached.
The client was advised by Partner Annika Peetsalu and Managing Associates Kadri Michelson and Tõnu Kolts.
