The Ministry of Defence of Estonia has awarded COBALT the Silver level “Supporter of national defence” recognition for its outstanding contribution to Estonia’s national defence. The award was received at a recognition ceremony held on 15 June by our Partner and Head of Estonian Defence and Security industry, Jesse Kivisaari.

The “Supporter of national defence” title is awarded to exemplary companies, employers and organisations that support Estonia’s national defenders, particularly by enabling participation in reserve training exercises or through other notable contributions. In doing so, they contribute to Estonia’s national defence more broadly and set an example for other organisations.

This year marked the fourth time the recognition has been awarded. In total, 527 employers were recognised, including 10 gold, 100 silver and 417 bronze level recipients. The gold and silverawards were presented by President Alar Karis, Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Kaimo Kuusk and Commander of the Estonian Defence Forces Lieutenant General Andrus Merilo.

We are also pleased to share that COBALT lawyer Kristo Pullerits serves in the Echo Company of the 131st Territorial Defence Battalion, which was named this year’s reserve unit of the year by the President of the Republic, Alar Karis.

We do our best to support and encourage our employees to contribute to national defence

For COBALT, supporting the security and long-term resilience of Estonia and the wider region is of great importance. We maintain full salary during reserve training and participate in a number of initiatives aimed at strengthening national defence.

Last year, we joined the Estonian Defence and Aerospace Industry Association and the NATO DIANA network. This year, together with other partners, we signed a memorandum of co-operation that marked the launch of the National Defence Year Programme, an initiative led by The Defence Resources Agency.

In addition, our Partner Jesse Kivisaari is the first Chairman of the AmCham Defense, Security and Resilience Committee.

We are grateful for this recognition and appreciation.
