The COBALT Latvia office has been named Dispute Resolution Firm of the Year at the Legal 500 Central & Eastern Europe Awards 2026, held in Warsaw on 15 October.
Selected from a shortlist of leading law firms across Central and Eastern Europe, this award highlights the breadth and impact of COBALT’s Dispute Resolution practice. Its track record spans landmark cases before the courts of Latvia, the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights, alongside significant victories in constitutional, administrative and criminal proceedings, arbitration and pro bono matters.
Lauris Liepa, Managing Partner at COBALT Latvia office and Head of the Dispute Resolution practice group, commented: “Some disputes shape the future of a business; others help shape the law or safeguard fundamental rights. Each demands sound judgment, strategic thinking and genuine collaboration. We have grown our practice by bringing together exceptional lawyers who challenge one another’s thinking and continually raise the standard of our work. We are immensely proud of the team we have built and the results we have achieved together. This award recognises their dedication and the trust our clients place in us.”
Sandija Novicka, Partner at COBALT Latvia office, attended the ceremony in Warsaw and accepted the award on behalf of the team.
