Employer wins court proceedings in an alleged discrimination case

COBALT has successfully represented one of the largest retailers in Latvia in court proceedings in an employment dispute where a former employee of the company alleged discrimination. The employee’s claim was fully dismissed and the court’s judgment is final. During the litigation, we were able to prove that the employer acted on economic grounds and did not violate the prohibition of discrimination during the termination process. The insights gained in this case will reinforce the understanding of the significance of the equality principle in employment relations.
