Decentralized (CoinGate) has obtained a crypto asset service provider license under EU Regulation 2023/1114 on crypto asset markets (MiCAR), issued by the Bank of Lithuania. This is the first license issued in Lithuania for crypto services as a core business. What is even more encouraging is that the license was issued to a company whose shareholders and managers are all Lithuanian, and which employs more than 50 people. Along with the crypto asset service provider license, the Bank of Lithuania also issued CoinGate a supplementary payment institution license.

This licence enables Decentralized (CoinGate) to provide crypto-asset services across the European Union under a unified regulatory framework.

The COBALT team, consisting of Partner Akvile Bosaitė, Specialist Counsel Justina Milašauskienė and the team members Rugilė Šerytė, Andrius Ankštutis, Greta Daubaraitė, Aurelija Šerniūtė, Lina Charašauskaitė, Giedrė Burdulytė, Goda Drąsutė, CAMS, and Aurelija Balčiūnė, advised the company throughout the licensing process. COBALT will continue to contribute to the development of the crypto sector in Lithuania.
