German retailer Lidl opens 15 stores in Latvia

The European retailer Lidl has launched its operations in Latvia with simultaneous openings of 15 stores across the country. Lidl opened stores in Rīga, Liepāja, Ventspils, Tukums, Jelgava, Ogre, Valmiera, Jēkabpils, Rēzekne and Daugavpils.
The company has invested over 200 million euros in the construction of 15 stores and a regional logistics center, and local infrastructure improvements. The new buildings are energy efficient and have achieved EDGE green building certification.
