Akvilė Bosaitė is a Partner co-heading the Banking & Finance Practice Group and leading the Emerging Companies & Venture Capital (ECVC) team at COBALT Lithuania. Financial Regulatory

Akvilė’s banking and finance practice encompasses a comprehensive spectrum of financial services regulation, licensing, and ongoing compliance matters. She regularly advises regulated market participants on obtaining and maintaining requisite authorisations and licences, including those for crypto-asset service providers under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR), electronic money institutions, payment service providers, consumer credit providers, and banking institutions. Her regulatory expertise extends to alternative investment fund manager (AIFM) licences and registrations, as well as fund formation advisory work under the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD), the Lithuanian Law on Collective Investment Undertakings for Informed Investors, UCITS-related fund structuring, and prospectus preparation and regulatory approval processes. Akvilė has supported numerous financial service providers in product development, regulatory strategy, and supervisory engagement, advising prominent market participants throughout the Baltic region. She also provides strategic counsel to fintech companies navigating the evolving regulatory landscape governing financial innovation, digital assets, and technology-driven financial services.

Financing Transactions

Akvilė advises on domestic and cross-border financing transactions, including project finance, asset-based lending, structured credit facilities, and the transfer and acquisition of loan portfolios. Her transactional experience includes advising on sustainable and green finance mandates as well as large-scale infrastructure lending arrangements. Her financing practice further encompasses domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions of regulated financial institutions, including banks, payment institutions, and other licensed entities. Akvilė also possesses extensive experience in all aspects of aviation law, aviation finance, and aircraft leasing, regularly advising international financiers, borrowers, lessors, lessees, and other transaction parties on aircraft registration, secured financing structures, operating and finance lease arrangements, and related aviation transactions.

Venture Capital & Emerging Companies

Akvilė leads the Emerging Companies & Venture Capital (ECVC) team, advising international and domestic investors, growth-stage companies, and founders across a broad range of industries through all stages of equity financing-from seed and early-stage funding rounds through Series C and beyond-as well as portfolio company exits and fund formations.

As an early pioneer in the Lithuanian venture capital and growth equity space, Akvilė has successfully advised on more than 200 investment rounds and exits, establishing ECVC as one of the firm’s leading and most dynamic practice areas. She has guided venture capital and growth equity funds through the full transaction lifecycle-from fund structuring and capital raising through portfolio investment, value creation, and successful exits. Akvilė remains deeply committed to the continued development of the startup and venture capital ecosystem in Lithuania, actively contributing her expertise to industry initiatives, thought leadership, and the advancement of the local entrepreneurial community.
